Who we are
This shop is run by BrookTech Digital Limited, a limited company registered in England and Wales No. 14196333, registered office Leah’s Yard, Unit S8, 22 Cambridge Street, Sheffield, S1 4HP. What we collect
- When you buy: your name, email address, billing address, phone number if you give it, company name if you give it, and what you bought.
- Your account: your login details and order history.
- Your training: your account on our learning site, learn.brooktech.cloud, your progress, attendance, assessment results and any evidence you upload, such as proof that you meet an exam’s prerequisites.
- Your exam: exams are sat online on Quilgo and are proctored, so your camera and screen are recorded while you sit the exam. We receive your score and a report on the sitting. Quilgo also uses Face Match: it checks the face on camera during the sitting to confirm that the same person sits the whole exam. This is biometric data, so we only use it with your explicit consent, which you give in your pre-exam declarations. You can choose a non-biometric alternative instead, such as a scheduled live ID check or an on-site invigilated sitting.
- Payments are taken by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details.
Why we use it
- To provide what you bought: taking payment, giving you a place on your course, booking your exam, recording your results and issuing your certificate. This is necessary for our contract with you.
- To keep accounting and tax records, as the law requires.
- To keep the shop and the exams secure and fair, and to answer your questions. This is in our legitimate interests.
- To check your identity during a proctored exam with Face Match. Because this is biometric data, a special category of personal data, we rely on your explicit consent. You can say no, or withdraw your consent before you start the exam, and sit it by the non-biometric alternative instead, with no disadvantage.
We do not sell your data and we do not use it for marketing without your consent.
Who we share it with
We use these services to run the shop, the training and the exams. Each handles your data only to provide its service to us: Hostinger (hosting), Stripe (payments), Brevo (email), Quilgo (online proctored exams, including Face Match), and Zapier (passing exam bookings and results between our systems). Some of these providers process data outside the UK; where they do, the transfer is covered by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law. Where certification requires it, we share your result with the body that awards the certification.
How long we keep it
Order and accounting records: six years after the end of the financial year they relate to. Your account and training records: while your account is open, and as long as needed to confirm a certification you hold. Exam recordings and Face Match checks: only as long as needed to review and confirm the result.
Cookies
The shop uses cookies that it needs to work, such as those that keep your basket and keep you logged in. WooCommerce also sets cookies that record how you arrived at the shop, so we can see which links bring people to it.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive it in a portable form. Email enquiries@brooktech.uk. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
